Gift of God Devotional

Scripture, testimony, and encouragement for mental health.

John Mencer is just one man among many who struggle to walk through a fallen world. Though he is far from perfect and tends to focus on those imperfections, he hopes to bring you with him along this journey to healing and love in Jesus!

“Earth, do not cover my blood; may my cry never be laid to rest! Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high. My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; on behalf of a man he pleads with God as one pleads for a friend.” Job‬ ‭16‬:‭18‬-‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

My Intercessor is my Friend as my eyes pour out tears to God (verse 20). How often do you spend time with God in the moment, crying and truly being present with Him? Do you think of God as an almighty, all-powerful being that is out of our reach? Don’t get me wrong, that IS true! However, despite that, God chooses to come to us and be our Friend, our Comforter, our hand to hold as we walk through all aspects of life with Him. Will you accept God as your Friend today?
