Gift of God Devotional

Scripture, testimony, and encouragement for mental health.

John Mencer is just one man among many who struggle to walk through a fallen world. Though he is far from perfect and tends to focus on those imperfections, he hopes to bring you with him along this journey to healing and love in Jesus!

“Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. . . . they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” Revelation 14:13b, 14b

Blessed are you when you die for the Lord.

For me, I see a common theme in Revelation that goes back to Jesus’ words telling us that there’s no greater way to demonstrate your love for others than by dying for them (John 15:13) – something Jesus gave the perfect example for. In Revelation, and all throughout Scripture, we see examples of being willing to die for one’s faith. We have no better way to demonstrate our love, devotion, and faith in Jesus than to be willing to sacrifice everything – even our lives – for His name . . . and there is also no greater blessing.

I’ve heard someone say before that if you’re being persecuted for your faith, then you must be doing something right. So, are you doing something right?
