Read Hosea 3.

“Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites…”

Hosea’s wife was quite literally hoeing around. She had sold herself as a prostitute. She was sleeping with many men and even had children that were not Hosea’s. And god wanted him to love her and take her back?

Now, think about it… We do the same thing, don’t we? We whore ourselves out to things like TV, work, money, food, people, social media, hobbies, etc. But God wants us with Him. God loves us despite the fact that we stray from Him. God loves us despite the fact that we worship all of these things that are not Him. And God wants us. 

What are you needing to give up? Now, not all of these things are necessarily bad – but come on, how much time do you really need to spend watching TV or on social media, for example.
