Read Hosea chapter 9.

17 “My God will reject them because they have not obeyed Him; they will be wanderers among the nations.”

This pretty well summarizes the next 2000+ years for the Jewish people – they were spread out all through the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, with no place to call home until after the World Wars. They were “wanderers among the nations,” and they still mostly are.

What does this say for us today? “My God will reject them because they had not obeyed Him” – we are called to follow Jesus in obedience and love. There is no way to have faith without being spurred to action. And if you are not spurred to change your life to one that glorifies Him, your faith may be questioned. Are you seeking daily to obey Him?
